Contender

contender_1The Windrush built Contender is a light, fast, high performance racing dinghy.  It was originally designed by Ben Lexcon in 1967 as a potential successor to the Finn dinghy in the Olympic single handed class of racing.  It is suitable for a wide variety of sailors, both male and female in the weight range of 55kg to 95kg and heights from 165cm to 200cm.

The shape of a Windrush manufactured Contender hull is a progression of the Bonezzi hull and is built using vacuum bag fibreglass foam sandwich construction to minimum class rule specifications.

The Windrush built Contender has placed first in world title heats and is sailed by the current world Masters champion.
